The HCHS Technology Lab is embarking on a number of projects to stimulate student interest and learning of technology. Students are currently learning the fundamentals of web page design using HTML (Hyper Text Markup Language) and CSS (Cascading Style Sheets). Students are also being offered the opportunity to create their own apps for smartphones using desktop software that links directly to Android operating systems tablets and phones. Students are encouraged to embrace technology and utilize currently trending technological advances for practical use as technology continues to become such an important part of our daily lives. Students are also learning about the number of possible careers paths they can explore in technology and the educational paths necessary to get them there. Amidst all the learning, students are gaining industry-recognized certification as Microsoft Office Specialist (MOS) and W3Schools (W3S) HTML Developers.
By embracing technology and learning to implement it in our daily lives, the hope within the HCHS CTAE Department is that more and more students will be encouraged to consider technology-related careers and use their education here at HCHS as a platform for continued innovative thinking and technology usage.
