Circulation Policies

Books are checked out for one week.  Books are to be returned on the student's library day each week.  Check with your child's teacher to find out when your child's class visits the media center.  First and second grade students are allowed to check out two (2) books at a time.  Kindergarten students only check out one (1) book at a time.  Overdue fines are not charged on books however students losing or damaging books must pay the replacement cost for loss or repair.  Students will be notified of overdue books by individual notices.

As stated in the school handbook
“Students are responsible for all books, textbooks, and library books issued to them during the school year. All lost or damaged books must be paid for by the end of the year. All money is recorded by the school bookkeeper and paid to the proper fund for replacement purposes. If a lost book is found, money paid will be refunded.”
Books that are not returned will stay on your child’s library account and carry over into the next school year at TPS and from school to school within our county.
*Students with books checked out from other libraries in the county will not be allowed to check out books from TPS until the books are returned or the purchase price of the book(s) have been paid in full.
