PETITION FOR DIPLOMA
Students who did not pass the graduation test may now petition for their diploma.

On Monday, March 30, 2015, Governor Nathan Deal signed House Bill 91 into law, thereby creating a new code section, O.C.G.A. § 20-2-281.1. This law became effective immediately. This law provides that students are no longer required to earn a passing score on any graduation tests to earn a high school diploma. Students, no longer enrolled, whose sole reason for not receiving a high school diploma was due to not passing any part of the graduation tests may petition the local board of education for a diploma by completing the Petition Form found at the link below.

5th Grade Dogwood Garden Club Poster Winner

Congratulations Kenley and Melody on your winning posters!

The Dogwood Garden Club sponsored Tallapoosa Primary School and West Haralson Elementary School, in the Smokey Bear and Woodsy Owl poster contest. The posters encouraged children to take a personal role in preventing wildfires or conserving natural resources with Smokey Bear’s fire prevention message “Only YOU Can Prevent Wildfires” and Woodsy Owl's conservation message “Lend a Hand – Care for the Land!" First place winner from Tallapoosa Primary School was Melody Jones and first place from West Haralson Elementary School was Kenley Lanier. The winning posters were sent to the District Chairman for judging in the next level of competition.

Tallapoosa Primary, West Haralson Elementary, and the Dogwood Garden Club look forward to partnering together to continue efforts addressing environmental concerns. Congratulations to Kenley and Melody on your winning posters!
